Submission Instruction: Author Guideline
Journal of Clinical Care and Skills publishes the following types of articles: Original research articles, Reviews, short communication, Commentaries, Letter to the editor

Our online submission system guides you stepwise through the process of entering your article details and uploading your files. All manuscripts are to be submitted online at: jccs.yums.ac.ir
Peer Review Process
At the first step, each submitted article is evaluated by the chief editor and our statisticians who check the articles for any methodological flaws, the format, and also the compliance with the journal’s instructions. Papers may be rejected without external review if the Associate Editor, together with a Science Editor or the Editor-in Chief, determines that the study does not significantly advance the field or the subject material is inappropriate for Journal of Clinical Care and Skills readership. All manuscripts are double-blind reviewed. Each manuscript is thoroughly reviewed by at least two external (peer) reviewers including statisticians and special experts in the subject of the manuscript. When the reviews are sent back to the journal, the editor assigned to the paper reads the paper over again and identifies any further modifications needed before the paper can be accepted. The editorial board makes the final decision according to the reviewer s’ comments.
Funding: This journal has no article submission or peer review processing charges, and also does not charge authors for accepting their article(s).
Manuscript preparation
Papers should be in English. Type the manuscript in Word using 1 inch margins all around and double line spacing. Tables and figures should be on separate pages. Use Arial (point font size 10) for English typing.
Sections of the Manuscript
The manuscript components are required to be uploaded as separate files in the following order:
(1) Cover letter, (2) Title page , (3) Blinded manuscript, (4) Figures, (5) Supporting information.
1-Cover letter: This page introduces your manuscript to the editor and should include any specific information you would like the editor to recognize. It should contain the following statement: the paper submitted has neither been published already nor is being under review elsewhere. Moreover, please indicate whether the authors have published or submitted any related papers from the same study.
2-Title page including: the title of the article; Author biographic sketch (es): authors’ full names (first and last name), the highest academic degree, job affiliation or name of the institution where the work was done; Running title (short form of the main title presented on the top of pages); Address of corresponding author: Complete mailing address and telephone/fax numbers; Conflict of interest disclosure, and acknowledgements.
The title page should be uploaded as a separate document with the words “title page” in the document name.
Conflict of Interest
Please provide full disclosure of any conflicts of interest for all authors such as financial, personal, political, or academic which would potentially affect their judgment.
1-Direct financial payment to an author for the research or manuscript production by the sponsor of a product or service evaluated in an article.
2. Ownership of shares by an author in the company sponsoring a product service evaluated in an article (or in a company sponsoring a competing product).
3. Personal consultant with companies or other organizations with a financial interest in the promotion of particular health care products and services.
If there are none, note “The author(s) has(have) no conflicts of interest to disclose.”
(3) Blinded manuscript, including: abstract, keywords, main body text, references, tables, figure titles, abbreviations and appendices
3-1- Abstract: The Abstract must be covered in under 300-400 words for original and review articles, 100-200 words for short communication.
In original Research: the Abstract should be divided into: Background and Goal, Methods, Results, Conclusions.
-Background and Goal: Please state the importance of the research question and the purpose of the study or review.
-Methods: Please include the study design, setting (for example, location and level of clinical care), intervention (s), and the main findings. In reviews and meta-analysis papers: identify data sources, including years searched; inclusion and exclusion criteria used for selecting studies; and methods for abstracting data and assessing quality and validity of the study.
-Results: Please state the key findings of the study or review.
-Conclusions: Clearly state the conclusions of the study or review, and the implications for clinical practice.
3-2- Keywords: Provide up to 6 keywords related to your article, by the Index Medicu Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) browser list: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh
3-3- Main Body Text:
Original Research and Quality Article should be limited to 5000 words and Review articles are limited to 6000 words, including: title page, abstract, text. Short Communications are treated like original articles, except that they should be limited to 2000 words including one table and two figures. Correspondence (Letters to the Editor) and commentaries are limited to 500 words.
Each text should be organized as follows:
-Introduction: brief review of background and purpose of the study.
-Material and Methods: Should be described in detail, including: methods and design of the study, study population, sampling, inclusion and exclusion criteria, measurement tools, data gathering techniques (standard techniques is best avoided), software applied for statistical analysis , analyzed methods, and etc. For reports of randomized controlled trials, authors should refer to the CONSORT statement. Reporting guidelines such as STROBE, STARD, and PRISMA would help you to produce high quality research and to provide all required information and evidence for related methodology. EQUATOR Network website would help you in using these guidelines.
-Results: Concisely reported in tables and figures, with a brief text.
-Discussion: Should Include scientific interpretations based on the findings, comparing these findings with the same researches and a self-critical of the findings, limitations and strengths and implications for theory, policy, and/or practice, etc.).
-Conclusion: The final result(s) the author(s) has (have) reached.
-Tables, Figures and Illustrations: Please submit tables as editable texts, not as images. Tables, figures, and graphic images must be cited in the order which they appear in the text using Arabic numerals. They should not duplicate information in the text of the paper. The title should completely explain the contents and be placed above the table, outside the table. Tables should be typed, double spaced, presented on separate pages after the references.
The legends should be placed below figures with a title and include sufficient description so that the figure is understandable without reading the text of the manuscript. Information given in legends should not be repeated in the text. Graphics should be prepared in high resolution GIF, TIFF, JPEG. Their print size should not exceed 8×12 cm. The Title and Legends for figures should be placed at the end of the main submission file on a separate page. Cite the source of previously published (print or electronic) material in the legend.
-Supplementary Materials: Supplementary Materials such as movie clips, questionnaires, and lists of additional resources appendices must be cited in the text of the manuscript. Please Number the appendices consecutively according to where they are cited in the text.
-Acknowledgments: place acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references section. Acknowledge persons other than co-authors who have made substantial contributions to the development of the study or manuscript. Write the name of the institution or organization which has provided the funding(s).
References
should be complied numerically according to the order of citation in the text in the Vancouver style (reference numbers in the text are to be in parentheses). The numbers of references should not exceed 40 for original articles, 15 for brief, and 80 for review. References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text (not in alphabetic order). Identify references in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals in superscript with square bracket after the punctuation marks. References cited only in tables or figure legends should be numbered in accordance with the sequence established by the first identification in the text of the particular table or figure. Use the style of the examples below, which are based on the formats used by the NLM in Index Medicus. Use complete name of the journal for non-indexed journals. Avoid using abstracts as references. The commonly cited types of references are shown here, for other types of references such as newspaper items please refer to ICMJE Guidelines (http://www.icmje.org or http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html).

Ethical guidelines
Ethics of human and animal experimentation: Manuscripts describing any experimental work with humans should include a statement that the Ethical Committee of the institution in which the work was done has approved it, and that the subjects gave informed consent to the work. The clinicians who conduct a clinical trial on human subjects and wish to publish the results of their investigations in this Journal should have obtained permission for their clinical trial from Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (IRCT) (http://www.irct.ir/) or other well-known clinical trials registries. Experiments with animals should be done in accordance with the legal requirements of the relevant local or national authority
